The City of Magnolia is governed by a Mayor and 5 Council members, elected for 2 year terms.
City Council meetings are held in the Sewall Smith Council Chambers located at 18111 Buddy Riley Blvd., Magnolia, Texas at 7:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month.
Councilman Sammie L. Scott
Councilman Scott was elected to office in May 2007.
Councilman John W. Bramlett
Councilman Bramlett was elected to office in May 2007. Elected Mayor Pro Tem 2007 and 2008. Councilman Bramlett moved to Magnolia in 1975. He and his wife have a son and a daughter. He has three granddaughters who live in and attend the Magnolia School District. He is a veteran with the US Air Force and served four years active duty, and served 15 years with the Air Force Reserves. Served in Vietnam War from 1969-1970. He is retired from public education with thirty seven years. Elected to Magnolia City Council in 1983 and served as Mayor in 1984. Elected Mayor from 1992 to 2001. Served on 4B Economic Development Corporation, Magnolia Planning Commission, Board Member of the Magnolia Historical Society, Lion's Club and was voted Citizen of the Year in 1998.
Mayor Pro Tem Bramlett continues to serve the citizens of Magnolia and volunteers for the community to help continue the life style that all residents want.

Councilman Todd Kana
Councilman Kana was elected to office in May 2005 and was re-elected in May 2007.
Councilman Kana is a life long resident of Magnolia. He has been a resident on the same street since he was an infant. Councilman Kana is a founding partner of a roofing and sheet metal company located in Houston. His hobbies include various outdoor activities.
Councilman Kana and his wife Jessica have one child.

Councilman Burhl Sanders
Councilmember Burhl Dwayne Sanders (Jody)was born July 12, 1930 in Wellington, Texas.
His family moved to Tyler, Texas in 1931, where he attend elementary school through the 8th grade. The family moved to Grand Prairie, Texas, but he returned to Tyler to complete his high school education, graduating from John Tyler High School in 1947.
After completing high school, he worked for the City of Tyler until 1950. He moved to Odessa, Texas for a short time then in 1954 went back to Tyler and began his employment with the City of Tyler as Office Manager over the Water Department.
In 1955 he moved to Brazoria County and began his employment with Texas Department of Public Safety where he remained for 10 years. During his employment there he helped organize and was the first President of the Brazoria County Peace Officers Association.
In 1965 he ended his career with the Texas Department of Public Safety and worked for Dow Chemical Company where he retired after 23 plus years of service.
In 1988 he moved to Magnolia and decided this is where he would put down roots and call home. He is still retired and enjoys his main hobby which is music.
Councilwoman Patsy Ogden Williams
Councilwoman was elected to office in May 1992 and has served on Council since that time. Councilwoman Williams served as Mayor Pro Tem from 1994 to 1995, 2001 to 2004 and 2005 to 2007.
Councilwoman Williams has been a Magnolia resident since 1955. She has one son, Todd Ogden who also resides in the City and 4 grandchildren. She and her husband, Jonny Williams, own and operate Windstar Service & Equipment and Windstar Wheels and are active members of the First Baptist Church of Magnolia. Councilwoman Williams currently serves on the Montgomery Texas Historical Society, the Historical Society for Magnolia and the CDBG Grant Fund for Montgomery County. Councilwoman Williams has previously donated her time and energies to the Magnolia 4A Economic Development Corporation, Magnolia 4B Community Development Corporation, the Little League, Friendship Center Board for Montgomery County, Greater Conroe Area Chamber Board of Directors and the Magnolia Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
Councilwoman Williams is committed to working with the community to preserve and improve the quality of life for our residents.
