Firefighters are still fighting blazes in California, but the fires are now up to 1,400 plus.
364,600 acres (670 square miles) have been burned already. And a "red flag warning" (most extreme fire danger) is still in effect.
19,500 firefights and 926 helicopters are being used to fight these fires.
A fire is still in Big Sur, described as massive and stubborn. It has burned 42 sqaure miles and destroyed 16 homes. Only 3 percent of the fire has been contained.
The lowere-than-average rainfall, parched vegetation--which are at record levels, and lightning storms are the cause for the intensity of the fires.
There is no relief in sight for the firefighters, either.
